Design & Sport – an exhibition.

Have you ever thought about the importance of design in sports? It isn’t a coincidence that the Formula 1 cars look cool, and that they try to make things interesting for body, soul, and mind.

2024 will be a fantastic year in France and in Paris, and the highlight of the year will be the Summer Olympics arranged during the summer of 2024. This exhibition is supposed to prepare the visitors for what’s ahead, and even more so, to make us think about what sports will be like in the future. What might chance? What will be different?

According to the official description of the exhibition, it explores the role of design in the progress of sport and the ties forged between these two fields, as well as potential developments. The exhibition also looks at how the sporting world has continued to inspire top designers – and vice-versa – in sectors including the automotive and ready-to-wear industries.

Gertrude Stein, born on February 3, 1874, in Allegheny, Pennsylvania, was an influential American writer and art collector. She became a central figure in the artistic and literary scene of 20th-century Paris, hosting a famous salon that attracted notable figures like Picasso and Hemingway. Stein’s experimental writing style is best seen in works like “Three Lives” (1909) and “Tender Buttons,” known for its abstract language. She played a key role in shaping modernist literature and passed away on July 27, 1946, in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France.

Pablo Picasso, born on October 25, 1881, in Málaga, Spain, was a revolutionary Spanish painter and sculptor. A co-founder of Cubism, he radically transformed art in the 20th century. Picasso’s works include masterpieces like “Guernica,” reflecting the horrors of war. His art evolved through various phases, from the Blue Period to the Rose Period, showcasing his versatile talent. Picasso spent much of his life in France and became a key figure in the Parisian art scene. He passed away on April 8, 1973, leaving an enduring legacy as one of the most influential artists of the modern era.
