Baths of Caracalla

In the period between 212 and 216 after Christ, while Caracalla was the emperor of Rome, these baths were built. The baths were built on an area more than 300 hectares, and according to some calculations it is said that more than 1500 people could swim here at the same time. It was not only possible to swim here, but you could also borrow a book at the library or buy something in one of the many stands at the area. Today the area is a tourist attraction with lots of ruins to show. The area is open from 9.00 – 17.00 every day and you can travel to the metro station Circo Massimo to get here (line B).
